I’m Amy Jones, the artist behind Threefold Studio.
I’ve always been drawn to building with my hands and exploring materials in unexpected ways, but the heart of my work began much closer to home. My daughter is a gifted musician and vocalist, and through years of watching her pursue her passion, guitar picks quietly became more than a tool of music. They became a symbol of creativity, dedication, and expression.
That connection inspired me to see an everyday object in a completely different light.
Today, I transform thousands of guitar picks into sculptural mixed media artwork inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of Texas, from disappearing armadillos and winding snakes to coastal marshes, river systems, and quiet waters. Rather than creating exact replicas, I strive to capture movement, texture, mystery, and the feeling that nature is constantly emerging and changing.
Every sculpture is built entirely by hand over hundreds of hours. No molds. No digital fabrication. Every piece is an original exploration of material, craftsmanship, and the unexpected beauty that can emerge when two creative worlds meet.
